What to Expect, Payments & Terms of Business
All prospective clients should read this.
The terms of business are posted here so that all clients understand the way Tim works. This page also explains how he runs sessions, what to expect and how payment is handled. When clients book and confirm sessions it constitutes an understanding and acceptance of the terms. Corporate clients booking on behalf of other people have responsibility for making those people aware of the terms. Special additional terms apply to emergency telephone consultations. There are explained firther down the page.
Cash or Cheque ONLY for therapy in person.
Tim does NOT accept card payments because he works from so many different locations. For this reason, for work in person payment is by cash or cheque.
Payments for urgent emergency telephone sessions are handled electronically.
Tim works in a variety of locations for the convenience of those travelling to see him. Please indicate where you will be coming from and your means of travel since this may affect the choice of venue. It may also affect price.
Meet and Greet:
Tim is very likely to be casually dressed when you meet him. This is because most clients prefer the more informal approach.
Some of Tim's clients are elderly, infirm or in physical pain. This dictated choice of office. Tim's usual office in Barnard Castle was chosen primarily for reasons of accessibility. It is small but functional... large enough for a few seats or to give access for a wheelchair. It is also kept deliberately plain in order to avoid pointless distractions. As such it is not luxurious but it works very well. It benefits from easy access. It is close to the main entrance. There are no steps to climb at all. There is a waiting area in the lobby of the building with drinks available. The toilets are also close by, and again no steps to navigate. Plus, immediately outside the building there is completely free parking. It is not a luxury space. It is a working space.
Those who want luxury can request it. Special accommodation can be requested in advance but it would come at additional cost.
In order to deliver the best results Tim chooses to work only with those persons who demonstrate a genuine commitment and readiness for change.
For this reason: Any prices quoted are for the purpose of booking and they remain valid for 48 hours to allow a session to be booked at the quoted price.
If Tim agrees to see you, and also provides a quotation which is within budget then you should undertake to provide booking information and dates within 48 hours of quotation.
If this is not done or if booking is otherwise unduly slow or delayed then the quoted price will lapse and no further session may be offered.
Tim will always endeavour to give you high quality results in the very shortest time-scale. This is to allow you to get back to being productive yourself. The price of a session is dependent upon the nature of the problem and on the amount of work Tim anticipates in treating it successfully.
Price is quoted by Tim in advance once he knows what is being requested. In order to quote a price, Tim needs as much information as possible and ideally some prior discussion with the client. This can usually be done over the phone. If such a discussion cannot take place for any reason, (such as extremely short notice), it will be factored into the price. Likewise Tim will also quote on any applicable travel or accommodation expenses which are always payable if he has to travel.
Once quoted, the fees or price for any intervention will not vary. This is very different from other therapists who can seem to want endless sessions with no clear idea of total cost. Tim's quotation for the work means that working with Tim is not open ended in terms of either price or duration and this is highly beneficial to the client. At time of booking you know the exact costs of the intervention and Tim will also give an indication as to the chances of success in that time. Also at time of quotation, Tim will provide an estimate of session length. Actual length of a session may vary since it will be based upon Tim's professional assessment during the session as to what is required. Sometimes he may go over time. Sometimes he may be faster than expected. In either case, this does not alter the price which will remain as quoted. This means that at time of booking you will know the exact price. You will also have a good idea as to session length and Tim's professional assessment as to the likelihood of the outcome you desire. Clients wishing additional work for additional outcomes may of course request it, and under those circumstances an adjustment to price may be mutually discussed and agreed at the time.
Time of Payment:
For private sessions in person, payment for the session itself is due during the session and is under the terms agreed at time of booking. Payment for any travel is usually required beforehand (if applicable. See above). If any travel expenses are still due at the end of the session then they should be paid at that time. Guaranteed sessions funded by staff welfare schemes and/or similar sources are paid according to whatever terms have been agreed.
(see also "Understanding Hypnotherapy")
Payment is for access to expertise. Tim will always endeavour to provide the very best outcomes but no therapist is perfect and no therapist is successful in absolutely every instance. Tim does however only undertake work with clients whom he expects will be successful. Clients can help or hinder of course. Most clients have the good sense to follow instructions and thereby maximise the likelihood of obtaining the desired outcome. On occasion Tim may refuse bookings with certain clients if he feels that they are not ready to be helped or would be otherwise uncooperative.
Tim is bound by a professional code of ethics and as such will ALWAYS put client interests first when determining the best course of therapy. Tim will only use those techniques which his training and experience indicate will be best for his clients and he will expect cooperation. Hypnosis and the other methods used require active participation. Booking is an acceptance that hypnotic and other psychological and therapy techniques will be used, and that such techniques and methods are subject solely to Tim's assessment as to suitability. Tim does sometimes offer guarantees but this is generally only offered to corporate clients. If such is desired it must have been requested and agreed in writing (see above). As such, should any aspect of the treatment not meet fully with expectations the total limit of liability shall not exceed session cost (See details of financial guarantee above). Hypnosis is a mental and also a physical process. Therapy requires commitment and full cooperation on the part of the client and every client carries a significant level of responsibility for their own outcomes. For this reason, other than any guarantee offered regarding session price, Tim will not be held liable for any losses incurred of any kind under any circumstances. Tim will always endeavour to facilitate the best possible outcomes using the techniques available to him. With this in mind, and in order to ensure that time spent working together will be most fully productive, clients should disclose all material facts prior to working with Tim. Clients should also clearly specify what outcomes they are looking for. This is best done in writing. Where no outcome is specified Tim will make an assessment based any discussion and also on his experience in the best interests of the client.
As already mentioned above, therapy requires commitment and full cooperation on the part of the client. Some people are their own worst enemies ...and despite being completely unable to solve things for themselves, they rather peculiarly feel expert enough to want to dictate their own treatment. Clients of this type would be wasting their time.
You should attend with an open mind, ready to listen and ready to follow instructions. Anything else is pointless.
Tim may advise on follow up that you should do. If this is advised then it should be undertaken.
Some members of the public mistakenly think that hypnotherapy is like programming a computer.
It definitely isn't. No hypnotherpaist on Earth can absolutely guarantee a specific outcome in every instance and here's why:-
Imagine having a mysterious electrical fault with a car and then taking that car to a garage to see if it can be fixed. A good garage will know what might typically solve such a problem. They cannot know for sure though until they have spent some time working on the vehicle itself. Investigative work is skilled and may time some time. There may find problems which make repair difficult. They may also have to try various tests or repairs in order to find a solution that works. If they can, they will fix the car within the limits set by the customers budget. Sometimes that is not possible.
Hypnotherapy is much the same. An experienced hypnotherapist knows what has worked very well for them in the past. They learn this from having worked on similar things. Sometimes though, a person may surprise them. (People obviously vary even more than cars do.)
Hypnotisability can be variable too depending upon circumstance, and it can also vary from client to client. Occasionally someone may be far more challenging than expected. There is no one solution that works for absolutely everyone. Ultimately the therapist can only do their best and they are paid for their time. The more skilled they are, the more successful they are likely to be.
It is also a fact that hypnotherapy is something of an art. Hypnotherapy can be rather like presenting a case for change to the subconscious mind. The hypnotherapist presents compelling evidence for change. The subconscious looks at the evidence presented, and then (just like a jury) it makes a decision about the outcome.
Hypnotherapists use words, skill, experience and hypnosis to present the best possible case for inner change. As you can imagine, some hypnotherapists are brilliant at this and others are not. The really great hypnotherapists know exactly how to present the best possible case for change. To do this they must use hypnosis, knowledge, skill and experience.
The clients own subconscious mind then makes a decision based on what's been presented to it. It cannot be forced into submission and so the skilled use of hypnosis and very effective persuasion is the only route.
This is another reason why within a given time-frame the final outcome can never be absolutely 100% predicted no matter how much one would like to. Ultimately it is the clients own subconscious which decides the outcome and this is another reason why the skill and experience of the hypnotherapist really counts. Despite the above I do sometimes still offer guarantees. (See below)
When booked through an insurance company or through an employer's staff welfare scheme Tim will almost always accept guarantee requests as long as he does not have to travel. If you wish Tim to work in this way the optional guarantee MUST be requested at time of booking. He will ask about the problem and will make a decision based on what you have requested. If acceptable, Tim will confirm the arrangement in writing at time of booking. If not requested and also by Tim accepted in writing then no guarantee applies and normal session terms apply (payment for Tim's time, expertise and also possibly for travel where applicable and agreed in advance). Where Tim is requested to travel to the client, a guarantee request is less likely to be accepted by Tim since it might indicate a reduced level of commitment on the part of the client. If no request is made and also accepted by Tim in writing at time of booking then the session is one without guarantee.
Where a guarantee is requested and agreed, success is judged by the therapy client themselves and NOT by Tim Phizackerley.
This means that where such a guarantee request is accepted by Tim, payment is only due for an outcome judged to be beneficial and successful by the client themselves.
If Tim has travelled to see you then any guarantee offered does not apply to any of Tim's travel or accommodation expenses. Under such circumstances these will be quoted beforehand and must be paid for beforehand where time allows, or following the session if insufficient prior notice has been possible. This working arrangement is all about genuine fairness for all and is unlike that offered by any other therapist.
There may be occasions under which Tim is subcontracted by a hotel (or similar) to help out a guest. If you are a guest paying some such organisation for Tim's services via them, then the guarantee option does not apply.
Reminder: Where no guarantee of success or benefit has either been requested or agreed then Tim's normal terms apply which is simply payment to cover any expenses and also for his time working on the problem (Price as quoted).
An important consideration: Guarantees can be confidence boosting from a new customer perspective. It allows someone to discover that Tim really can do what's advertised and Tim is always happy to honour them where agreed because he knows how reliable his techniques are. There is however one important aspect that you may wish to consider very carefully. A guarantee can sometimes reduce the amount of commitment to success brought to bear on the process by the therapy client themselves.
There is a world of difference between a client thinking, "I'm going to follow instructions fully to make absolutely sure I'll be successful" and "I've got nothing to lose. I may as well give it a go". Those two attitudes going in are very different. One is desirable. The other is not. (See Client Responsibility)
The booking of a session is confirmed by means of an email or text sent to you when the booking is made. Confirmation includes the time, location and date and is the only valid confirmation of a session so you should read it, note the details and retain. All sessions are confirmed by email or text in this way. It is important to arrive on time and at the location specified.
Bookings by Third Parties:
Where a business, agent, or similar representative books a session on behalf of a third party, they are responsible for ensuring that the therapy client is fully aware of the terms herein. Attendance by the client will be taken as confirmation that this has taken place.
Tim endeavours not to ever cancel sessions but very occasionally he may have no choice. Cancellation is not something he does lightly. In this unlikely event he would always attempt to notify the client as soon as possible and he would also offer another appointment time. He will not be held responsible for any inconvenience or for any losses of any kind that may be incurred. Those travelling long distances, staying overnight, or travelling from abroad should of course ALWAYS have appropriate travel insurance in place.
Your Contact Details:
You should ensure you have sent Tim your contact details beforehand via email, text message, or online form and also to be sure that he has confirmed receipt of them. You should include a working mobile telephone number through which you can be contacted.
Urgent Emergency Telephone Consultations
On occasions Tim may undertake an truly urgent consultation by phone. Special terms apply to telephone work. Telephone consultations take place at a distance and therefore you will be in a location to which Tim has no access. With a such a phone consultation it is your responsibility to minimise disturbance and also to ensure that you are well seated and physically located in a safe location. You may be asked to close your eyes in order to use your imagination but other than that Tim uses non drowsy methods for telephone hypnosis. This is deliberately the case for reasons of client best interest. For telephone consultations payment is taken electronically before the work begins. Payment for phone sessions is by PayPal and Tim will provide details of where to make payment at the time. As with other sessions, payments are for time spent and access to expertise. They are non-refundable so you should only make payment after having spoken to Tim immediately beforehand to confirm the call can take place. You are responsible for the cost of any calls you may make in order to access this service. A record of times and dates of any calls is retained in the event of any query regarding supply of the service. This particular service is not available to other therapists.
1. For reasons of good sense and to be medically safe, medical problems should first be assessed by a medical practitioner. Any client currently undergoing treatment elsewhere for the presenting issue should seek their approval prior to seeing Tim. (This is an important professional courtesy and this step is the client's sole responsibility.)
For reasons of client well being, Tim should be informed as to emotional, psychological and medical conditions and any medication history. Wherever possible Tim likes to discuss things carefully with clients themselves prior to agreeing to work with them.
2. Where thought most appropriate Tim may seek to alleviate the symptoms in order to best help a client.
3. Tim can only offer personal opinion, both in person and on this website. Because his skill set is so unique his views may not always be 100% in accord with the commonly accepted scientific viewpoint.
4. The domain name britainsfastesthypnotist.com is not intended as an absolute claim but rather to indicate his methodology in seeking beneficial outcomes for clients in short timescales. Tim undertakes to be fast and efficient in his work and this if for client benefit.
5. Tim uses many forms of hypnosis in combination with other methods to accelerate client progress and to deliver the best results. His methods often include the use of PSTEC(TM) which he developed over many years. It is different to hypnosis and makes certain things possible.
6. When dealing with a critical emergency or with certain clients whom he feels will benefit from a rapid induction of hypnosis he may undertake to induce hypnosis in just a few seconds. In other sessions or at client request he may work a little more slowly. Whatever the circumstance he will always undertake to provide the very best possible outcomes within his single session format.
7. Some sessions may include a significant explanation of important concepts or procedures. This is done so as to remove misconceptions or barriers to success.
8. Hypnotherapy is all about real people and real experiences and to that end and after experiencing Tim's work some clients have very kindly shared their own experience of a session with Tim by means of a short video interview. Where a client agrees to such an interview it is understood and accepted that it may then be used by Tim to promote his services and also to educate others in respect of the hypnosis experience.
No Doorstep Calling:
Doorstep callers seem to forget that their actions can disturb important sessions for other people. Doorstep calling is inconsiderate of others and their problems. For this reason anyone turning up to see Tim for any reason without an appointment will NOT be seen. This applies both at the time in question and also at ANY time thereafter. Doorstep callers do not get sessions, ever.
International clients should note that these terms are subject to UK law and UK jurisdiction.
Booking indicates an acceptance of these terms.
